Work in progress: Eligina - life-size fountain
In this fountain the water flows from the Eligina's upraised hands over her hair and body, simulating her standing under a natural waterfall
Eligina is dedicated to two wonderful female models Elisabeth and Gina.
In 2001, I began working on a second life-size fountain. The inspiration came from the wonderful sensual and expressive lines of Elisabeth's face which I was allowed to capture during my visit to Miami. I carried the photographs home and started the design of the fountain on paper.
From the sketches I transferred the idea into a three-dimensional clay original. This original would serve as a model in the mold making process for further castings of Eligina in bronze.
